MASCOT COMPETITION - Terms and Conditions

• This competition is a promotion run by NZSki Ltd (Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and Mt Hutt).
• When a person submits an entry in accordance with these terms and conditions (the Terms), they are deemed to have agreed to be bound by these Terms.  
• Entries will only be accepted by NZSki from persons who reside in New Zealand and Australia.  

 

Entry Process 

• Entries must be on the official entry form.
• Entries close midnight October 31, 2024 (Entry Deadline). Entries received after the Entry Deadline will not be considered.  

 

Requirements of Entry  

• A unique, one-of-a-kind mascot that embodies the spirit and values of Coronet Peak and the surrounding area. Fun, friendly, and memorable—something everyone will love.
• We would love to see elements incorporated that are meaningful to the local area, ensuring your mascot resonates with the community.
• An entirely original design that must not infringe on any existing copyrights or designs from other companies.
• Inappropriate imagery will not be accepted or considered.  

 

Intellectual Property  

When an entry is submitted in accordance with these Terms, the participant submitting such entry is deemed to have assigned all intellectual property rights in such entry (including design) to NZSki Ltd.  

The person who submits the winning entry (the Winner) is deemed to have acknowledged and agreed that upon submitting the winning entry into the competition:  

1. a) The Winner unconditionally assigned to NZSki Ltd all intellectual property rights in the Winner’s entry (including the design);  
2. b) All intellectual property rights in the Winner’s entry shall be exclusively owned by NZSki Ltd on submission; 
3. c) NZSki Ltd has the right to use all intellectual property right’s (without limitation) in the Winner’s entry, including the design, in perpetuity for use in relation to its mascot and otherwise as NZSki Ltd  sees fit, without any limitation (including commercial use) and without any obligation to pay compensation, royalties or otherwise to the Winner for such use.  

 

Winning Entry/Winning Prize  

The valid entries will be reviewed by NZSki Ltd and the winning entry will be selected by 16 December 2024. As to what constitutes the winning entry is at NZSki Ltds sole and absolute discretion.  

• Each participant to the competition acknowledges and agrees that entries may be similar or closely resemble each other, nevertheless, NZSki Ltd reserve the right to select one (1) winning entry.  
• NZSki Ltd will notify the Winner by 16 December 2024.
• NZSki Ltds decision regarding the Winner and any other matter relating to this competition is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 
• NZSki Ltd retains the right to alter aspects of the winning entry to suit brand and operational objectives. For the avoidance of doubt, the prize does not include any costs or expenses associated with travel or accommodation in connection with prizes.  
• The prize is non-transferable, non-changeable, not redeemable for cash and cannot be exchanged for any other services. 
• NZSki Ltd reserves the right to revoke a prize at any time they consider that the Winner has breached any of these terms and conditions. 

 

Acknowledgment and Agreement of Winning Entry 

• The design of the winning entry may not be the final design used for the NZSki Ltd mascots and may be altered by NZSki Ltd or any designated 3^rd party – it may be an adaption of the winning entry design.

 

General  

• NZSki Ltd are not responsible or liable for lost, misdirected or incomplete entries to this competition. 
• By entering this competition (and therefore being bound by these Terms), entrants grant to NZSki Ltd an unconditional right to use images of the Winner for promotional purposes, which may include publication in any format or location chosen by NZSki Ltd in its absolute discretion and NZSki Ltd may licence publication or use of such images by any of its subsidiaries or related entities including, without limitation, on the NZSki Ltd websites and social media pages. 
• NZSki Ltd will hold any personal information received in connection with the competition in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. 
• These Terms shall be governed by the laws of New Zealand and subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
